Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif received a warm welcome from the authorities at the Communist Party of China (CPC) Museum during her visit.
Insights at the CPC Museum
The delegation was given an in-depth briefing on the historical evolution of the Communist Party of China. The museum showcased a visual journey of China’s history and the Communist Party’s struggles, highlighting the leadership of Mao Zedong and other milestones, including the Chinese Revolution, the British Army’s war, the Russian Revolution, and the CPC’s foundation. The journey extended to the current presidency of Xi Jinping.
Maryam Nawaz commended the museum’s digital presentation and noted its reflection of the CPC’s 130-year legacy. She remarked, “The evolution of the Communist Party has transformed not only China but the entire world.” She added that China’s development exemplifies how committed leadership can drive progress and serve as a model for developing nations.
Strengthening Pakistan-China Relations
Continuing her visit in Shanghai, CM Maryam Nawaz met with Zou Zongming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Committee. Discussions focused on fostering economic collaboration between Punjab and Shanghai, emphasizing trade, investment, and technological advancements.
Maryam Nawaz invited Shanghai-based companies to invest in Punjab’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and highlighted potential opportunities in industries like IT, robotics, semiconductors, and automobiles. She also praised China’s contributions to Pakistan’s IT sector and its support for Pakistani students and professionals.
Agreements to Transform Punjab
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari shared that the Chief Minister’s visit has resulted in historic agreements. These include advanced cancer treatment initiatives and innovations in Punjab’s agriculture sector. Bokhari stated, “Maryam Nawaz is transforming the province’s future with Allah’s help.”
Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed optimism about furthering Pakistan-China collaboration and affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to following China’s model of development.
