Master Changan Motors Ltd intends to assemble electric cars locally.

KARACHI: Within a year, Master Changan Motors Ltd (MCML), a joint venture between Changan International and Master Group of Industries, plans to transform its recently introduced imported electric vehicles into a completely knocked down (CKD) project.

After the renovation, the current facility, which is now operating at full capacity, will be modified to produce EVs that are locally built.

At Clifton’s Dolmen Mall on Friday, MCML debuted its two imported electric vehicle models, the Deepal L07 sports luxury sedan and the S07 SUV.

Shabir-ud-Din, Director of Sales and Marketing at MCML, stated on the event’s fringe that the business aims to invest a total of $50 million to launch three to four CKD models over the course of the next two to three years.

According to him, the corporation wanted to provide a fully electric car.
